The Information and Data Protection Commissioner’s Office supports the Roma Versitas Albania organization, within its project “Legal education of Roma students, community mediators and health to facilitate access to justice for their community”

This cooperation focused on the development of training with students and members of the Roma and Egyptian community, on the acquaitance of the constitutional rights of access to public information and that of protection of privacy and personal data. In this activity, the participants were acquainted with the legislation in both areas of activity of the Office of the Commissioner, with the functions and role of the institution and with practical cases addressed or involving members of this community. Lecturers in this activity were Mrs. Elona Hoxhaj – Director of the Department of Evaluation of Complaints in the General Directorate for the Right to Information and Mrs. Pjerina Gaxha – Director of the Department of Complaints and Harmonization in the General Directorate for Personal Data Protection. The cooperation with the RVA organization will be extended to other activities of mutual interest.

The Office of the Commissioner welcomes and is available to cooperate with any civil society organization that promotes and strengthens the implementation of citizens’ rights and their participation in the function of good governance.
