The Office of Information and Data Protection Commissioner has launched a public consultation regarding the new Standard Transparency Programme of Public Authorities.

The revision of the Transparency Programme is a requirement pursuant to Article 5 of the Law No. 119/2014 “On the Right to Information”. The Commissioner’s Office has built important expertise in this ambit throughout the period of practical oversight of the implementation of this law, upon following up the requests filed with by the citizens, the civil society organisations or the various interest groups, and as a result of the evaluation of the activity of public authorities in this context. The adoption of a complete and updated Transparency Programme constitutes an important instrument in guaranteeing knowledge of public information.

The content of the new Standard Transparency Programme has been further improved, thereby listing under each category the specific information and document to be published, in accordance with Article 7 of the Law No. 119/2014. Furthermore, the graphics of the TP have been remodelled so as to facilitate access and encourage proactive usage by the citizens.
