On 29 and 30 April 2015 the Information and Data Protection Commissioner organized in the premises of Adriatik Hotel in Durrës, the 17th meeting of Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities – CEEDPA.

This meeting is the first international event hosted by the IDP Commissioner. In this meeting participated 16 delegations from Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Moldavia, Georgia, Morocco, Italy, as well as representatives of European Union and Council of Europe.

The Commissioner, Mr. Besnik Dervishi, in his speech, stressed that “The meeting of Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities, serves to the mutual appreciation of the best practices in this field,  as well as creation and unification of common practices”.

In this meeting, special guests as the Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Ilir Meta, the minister of Innovation and Public Administration, Mrs. Milena Harito, the European Data Protection Assistant Supervisor Mr. Wojciech Wiewiorowski and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands Mrs. Dewi van de Weerd,  held welcoming speeches.

During  the first day of the meeting the participants approved the Kosovo National Data Protection Agency as a new member of CEEDPA. The participants of the 17th CEEDPA Meeting exchanged their experiences on concrete cases in the field of personal data protection and respecting of the privacy, raising awareness in schools, legal reforms, technology development, transparency of public authorities and cooperation with private sector.
